So I have a eheim gravel vacuum, it SUCKS, not even in a good way.
It barley does anything, bad suctioning, I'm constantly messing with it while trying to clean and it's just redisulous.

$60 for a piece of junk.

The thing is clean, but does not always spin, needs a good knock to get it going, batteries are fully charged too!

So what the heck!? Anyone else with this issue?
How do I fix it?

Sorry to hear that.

I have one and love it. It has just enough suction power not to suck sand in my tank. So, do you have to knock it to get it going? Probably, the battery contact is loose. If you need more suctioning, use it without an extension.

It will turn, but then stop, so I bump it and it gets it going again. I'll see if messing with the batteries helps. If I take off the cut out extension, then I have to keep the unit at an angle and move it slowly so it doesn't stir the gunk.

I would contact Eheim and explain what's going on.
Eheim makes good products maybe they can help

Eheim Gravel Vac

I have the Eheim Gravel Vac as well but one it sucks up all the dirt it goes right through the meshing and into the water...kinda useless
