I have the Pro 2 canister with the optional install kit. Its been running fine for the past 7 months. Over the last month its developed an air leak around the tube that connects the install kit to the green hose. Not a major issue in itself except I can NOT get the filter to reprime itself. I have to basically use a cup and funnel and fill the entire filter myself before it will work.

The major issue this morning was with the clips that hold the top to the canister. While trying to get it filled and primed this morning, I guess the pressure was too much and snapped one of the plastic clips.

Needless to say water went EVERYWHERE under the cabinet, into the outlet (tripping the breaker) and scaring the crap out of me.

Long story short, I drove all over the place for 3 hours today and no one sells replacement parts for Eheims... figures.

Right now I have it held together with mondo sized zip ties from Ace, and praying something good happens. I emailed Eheim but the intake parts on on back order for a month (covered under warranty at least), but not sure if the clips will be. Does anyone have any spares laying around they do not need? I need 1 definitely, possibly 2 if the adjacent corner is weakening too (I see some color difference right through the middle, just where the first one snapped, but it is holding for now.)

Let me know if anyone does... or just wants to point and giggle.

No spare clip but some advice, get it under warranty if possible and in the future always after making sure the lid is lined up correctly, use hand pressure to compress the lid into clip position so that there is no stress on any of the clips when snapped in place, then let off the lid so that the clips take the pressure evenly. Never snap or unsnap a clip while the lid under pressure, rather use hand pressure on the lid to release load off the clips, then unsnap or snap in place. Do that and the clips will last indefinitely.

Make sure the tube is on fully, put a couple of zip ties on if it still sucks air. It really should be very snug I can't really see how it would suck air in unless the tube is not on all the way.

If it's under warranty they should replace anything not working or broken.
Eheim has pretty good service.

If it aint I found one here:

Thanks guys... as far as the clips, it was working and I wasnt touching the clips when it snapped. I was trying to prime it to get the air out.

The parts leaking air isnt the vinyl hose, its the plastic install kit pipe. I'm thinking about just getting some extra hose and hoseclamping it on for that part.

I sprung another leak about 2 hours ago, and now have 3 pairs of 36" .25 inch zip ties holding the lid down. Its still sucking in air but it looks like its keeping it internal until I figure out a clip.

Oh my god, after shipping the cheapest I can find those clips is 13 bucks each, holy crapolie.
