Eheim Pro II 2026 or 2028?

My concern with the 350 is the flow rate. It's rated at 350gph. And while i'm sure real-world flow isn't quite that high, i did plan on keeping media on the light/sparse side in the filter i'm using for the UV. I want the water to stay in the UV as long as possible. So maybe the flow would be significantly more than say, 200 gph? I'm not sure...
Since i'm taking my time with this setup, I just want everything copacetic. :grinno:

I used my 350 w/micron to push water through my Pentair 15w UV. The Mag 350s flow was too low. I had to change it out.

I am a large proponent of the Mag 350 w/micron for water polishing, but the micron sleeve really reduces the flow.

You may be interested in putting the UV on the output of the 2028.

But wouldn't that be way too much flow through the UV? I was under the impression that you wanted to keep the gph pretty close to what's rated on your UV. I was looking at the Coralife twist, or the Current Gamma UVs. I know the gph recommendation for the twist was 100-200 gph. The Current gamma's ratings are way higher though. Maxes of 700gph.

I guess i still have some decisions to make then!

I think TwoTankAmin has it right.. I have a 75 G brackish. the 2028 take water in from the left side of the tank, and runs thru a hydor inline heater, then flows out the right. then my 2026 intake is on the right, runs thru a uv, the out the left. 1)this really circulates the water around 2) i have the uv on the lower flow pump, for the reasons mentioned above, and 3) i have to do filter maint like once or twice a year, save for a qucik change of the filter pad on top, which doesn't require a breakdown of the unit. It's expensive, but i've reached the point in my life where i wanted to stop fighting with my fish tanks. BTW, see my other post today re silicone grease, gaskets on eheims.

Hi, how about the Eheim Professionel 3 Canister Filter (2071, 2073, 2075) from Marine Depot EH2071 2071370 EHEIM Pro 3 External Filter 250 w/ EHEIM Media $219.99 $189.99

EH2073 2073370 EHEIM Pro 3 External Filter 350 w/ EHEIM Media $249.99 $219.99

EH2075 2073570 EHEIM Pro 3 External Filter 600 w/ EHEIM Media $289.99 $249.99. Just an Idea. I was thinking saving up to get a 2028 for my 55 gallon. Would this be a better deal?
