I'm using it for freshwater, but it seems like a lot more people use the Eheim Wet/Dry Filters for salty applications, so I thought I'd post over here.
I've got a 2229 that gets really noisy during the slow refill phase of operation. I understand that air at the impeller can cause vibration and noise, and I'd imagine that is the noise I am hearing... but is there any way to quiet that vibration? It is a used filter I got here on AC, I think I changed the impeller when I got it (but forget now, it's been sitting unused for months) Is this sound louder with wear or just always loud? It's the only one I've seen in operation, so I have nothing to compare it to.
