ehim vs fluval

Well, Eheim is so far unsurpassed in reliability and features, and only recently surpassed (by the Fluval FX5) in capability. What you buy will depend on two major factors...which (make and model) is the best fit for your needs, and which is also the best fit for your budget (Some Eheim models exceed $600).
How big is your tank, what do you intend to house as far as livestock goes, will the tank be planted, and how much are you expecting to spend on the filter?

I love my Ehiem's (2215 and 2217). I cannot really say anything about Fluvals because I do not own one.
The tank I'm looking at is 265g to 300g Iwill be housing doviis and midas no plants just rocks and driftwoods. I been doing some research on ehim the promblem is the priming is it true, and the fluval is capacity of the tray dosn't hold much media then the ehim is this true thanks.oh by the way money is no problem with me you tell me. :thm:Toirtis said:

I'm prepraing to buy an FX5 to replace 2 Emperor 400's which are currently running on a 90g tank. The reason I am now going with a canister filter instead of the Biowheels/HOB is due to surface agitation, and the fact that a CO2 system is going to be going in very shortly.
I know nothing about Ehim, and until this article - I had never even heard of them (but I am new to the hobby so that doesn't mean much).
