Yesterday bf came in with a bag and said happy b-day I got you a tang. I look in the bag and said this is an Eibli angelfish.:headshake2: ( I have a coral beauty in my 95 and don't want to chance them fighting.) Now I have told everyone do not come home with anything for the tank. Any way I called the store (which is 45mins away:headshake2: ) and asked if I could exchang he said "no, your tank is big enough just put it in". Bf left to go have a beer with his friend.:mad2: So I decieded to teach him a lesson and do the only right thing, took one of his checks and went and bought a 28 gal set up.:grinyes: This will be a temporary set up, my mom has a new 90 gal that she has decieded not to set up and is going to give me but I won't see her until April. Now my question: I plan to fill the 28 mostly with water from 95. I plan to add some of the rock and sand as well. I also bought 30lbs of live sand. I am hoping this will be best for the fish. Any sugestions?? Am I forgetting something??

LOL well I've had the same thing happen except mine was supposedly a lemon angelfish which was really a damsel.
Why not treat the 29 as a QT tank for the time being, put like a cup of sand in the water in a corner until your cycle takes off in the tank as your going to be doing quite a few water changes until the cycle is complete. Once that is done then go ahead and add the sand etc for the fish until april.

I like the QT idea, as you should really qt that fish for a while anyhow.
I wouldn't put any sand in a qt tank, though...but that's just me.
Also, if you have any LFS that you frequent, they might trade the fish for you.

I like Damon's idea of asking a LFS that wants your business more than the first one apparantly does. Hard to be mad at the boyfriend when he was trying to something thoughtful but ugh huh?
Ugh!! is right Grins, but you think this man would of learned when my 95 gal was only about a couple of months old with mostly base rock and he came home with a Mandarin. Thankfully Reed Mariculture is close to where I live and I was able to buy the pods. That was a costly mistake keeping that little guy fed and happy. The Mandarin now lives 530 miles away in my mothers 180 with a very good refugium.
