I have 2 electric blue hermit crabs and the one molted yesterday. Well I go to bed and when I wake up the other electric blue is all over the one that just molted. Needless to say, the one that molted has lost 3 of his 6 legs and his shell was stolen too. There are plenty of shells to choose from also. Is this normal? All was a peacable kingdom til last night.

Most hermits will fight for shells. You've done your due diligence by having extra shells around, but sometimes you end up getting a real a-hole.

LoL. Stealing each others homes. Thug hermits. ---- sorry, had to. That stinks. I'm wanting to get a few electric blues, but after that, I don't want them canabalizing each other! =) How do you like your lawnmower blenny? I'm torn between them and a high fin red banded goby.

You're hit and miss on any hermits, not just electric blues. Mine haven't bothered eachother and they've all molted at least once. Just get a large number of them and hope for the best.

I love my lawnmower blenny...he is a great algae eater keeps the tank very clean and has a great personality...Yes, that's right personality he is like a little dog. (lol) My personal opinion is that I would go with the lawnmower... :thm:
