Electric Blue Rams?

I ran across these at a cool store in Chicago that I only visit every now and then. just curious if more people have seen or heard of these? I prefer the traditional GBR colors but these are interesting non-the-less. I wonder what fish will have an electric blue strain next?

There is also the gold color variant...would be interesting to breed the variants and see what came out.

yea, i've seen the gold variation. I just can't figure out what the appeal of these are when the original strain is so colorful. With the Jack Dempsey the electric blue variation really pops. I'm surprised Oscars haven't gotten the electric blue treatment yet.

I dont like them personally...not worth it when you add in the price. Just another fad IMO.

I once saw blue oscars. Sadly they were dyed albinos.

nope, its all genetic I believe...like the gold, balloon and longfin varieties.

I thought I saw a pair for $40 bucks at my LFS this summer but dont quote me on it.

I saw a couple in person once, not very bright or vibrant like in the pic. I'll stick to my regular GBRS. I did see a very nice blue Jack Dempsey yesterday. I wanted to buy him, but ain't got the space.
