Purchased 2 Electric Yellows, 2 Electric Blues, 2 pl*cos for a new tank that had been cycling for over a month - 7 days later the larger electric blue died and then the next day the other electric blue died.

The electric yellows and pl*cos are fine and now its been 3 weeks.

any idea on why only the electric blues died?????

What do you think "Cycling" is? Running it empty for a week or 2 aint cycling. Do a google on "New Tank Syndrome."

Sorry to get on your case, but you offered little information for us to work with. Thus, my first assumption is your fish are suffering ammonia or other nitrogen poisoning.

How did you mature the biofilter? Did you run an empty tank for a week and then add 6 fish? If so, you havn't cycled at all. Please read:

Also, what size tank is it... and did you raise the Ph up to 8.2 for these fish? I'm not sure what an electric blue is... but since electic yellows (Labidochromis caeruleus "Yellow Morph) are very peaceful, i doubt it was them that killed the electric blues.

It was most likely, like bumblefish said, improper cycling. Could have been shock as well... adding so many waste-producing fish into an empty tank will throw it into a mini-cycle (if its already cycled) since the established bacteria will not be able to handle all the new ammonia at once.
