Was in Calgary at a PetSmart (I think) and I saw a 1" Electric Eel. But I only have a 25Gallon...

Would like a fish that will give off a Electric charge...any suggestions?

BTW, I live in Toronto, ON, Canada.....

Arvo - Electrophorus electricus would require an enormous tank to house it properly as they are known to grow six to nine feet in length.

Some of the larger specimens will discharge current in excess of 500 volts up to 650 volts. That electricity is used to stun and kill prey as well as ward off enemies.

Very cool fish indeed, but a 25 gallon aquarium is no where being close to what you'd need to house that properly. I honestly don't feel that even 250 gallons would be close to enough for such a large creature.

you would prob need a pond or a very large tank like 300g+ , adn i would recommend a pond because if the electricity discharges in the tank i think it would short out everything, and if it was in a pond esp in the ground the electricity would discharge into the ground.
