I bought my third tropical tank today. I have a 25 watt heater a 150 watt and a 100 watt. What is the electricity going to be like? My dad won't be happy if it's really expensive.

You can compare them to the same wattage light bulb, but not on continuously.

It won't be much. It all depends on where you are too. But with the heaters, assuming they are adjustable, you probably are not going to be getting the full wattage out of them all the time anyway, unless you keep the inside of your house around 40 degrees.

Oh it will probaly boost a electric bill to around 5 or 6 thousand dollors. No it won't probaly even be noticable. However never purchase new equipment durring the times when bills go up or you may be blamed.

lights will probably make a bigger difference. although heaters use a good amount of electricity, its only on to adjust the temperature and then its off. if your lights are on hours more than it has to be, it makes a difference each month, especially incandescent set ups.

Yeah i live in england and its winter at the moment so theres going to be an impact on the bill. Hopefully it won't be to bad i dont want to go coldwater.

NEVER set up an aquarium in your parents house the same month the air conditioning goes on... YOU and all your darn fish will be blamed for the high bill!... haha

Yeah. I have almost a dozen tanks running full heater/filtered, and the power consumption is equal to leaving my PC on. Works out to be like a nickel a day or something. Noticable, but nothing compared to what happens when the AC or Furnaces are going.
