Dunno which one you tried, but:
I found the Red Sea KH/GH crap -- I hate it. It's almost impossible to know when to stop adding drops the and the directions suck.
The Aquarium Pharmaceuticals one is easy to use and accurate. It starts blue and when it's done it's yellow. No matching colors, no tonal shades. Yellow is it.
Just my experience. Course if you have no problem with the Red Sea one, please tell me how you did it
