Elephant Nose and Black Ghost Knife!?

Also with the elephant nose, it seems a smooth gravel substrate works best. They like to dig for crustacion in the substrate, and will spend most of their time doing that. I don't think they are as light sensitive as the bkg however.
The ones at my lfs are always busy probing the gravel for food. Cute :)

Hi Guys,

A few questions.
I really want to get an elephant nose and a black ghost knife. I was just wondering if anyone knows if these two can be kept in the same tank together. I have a 46g bow, sand substrate, lots of plants and hiding spaces. Water quality is good. pH is 7.3, ammonia, nitrate, nitrites are 0, hardness is about 6dgh.
Any input is greatly appreciated!

When you did your tests, did you have any fish in there?

you should have some nitrAtes.....

I test my water weekly and eveything has stayed the same for over 2 months now. Never had a problem with it and the fish are all doing great.
Yeah I have tons of retreats and cave like spaces from the light for an elephant nose and I also have sand as my substrate, not gravel. :o

Well, just thought I'd update everyone.

I bought my elephant nose 3 days ago and I LOVE him! He stayed hidden for the first day, but now he's out and about during the day and knows when it's feeding time. Occasionally I'll see him swimming around with my clown loaches. Right now he's only about 2 inches, but im sure he'll grow steadily.
Thanks again to everyone for all the helpful info!

Candice
