emaciated, bent, ripped fins. . .TB?

Thank you all for being so helpful!
I do have another question. Will my aquarium plants be affected by the fenbendazole? I have several java ferns.

Plants should be fine, Flannery. IME, this stuff is only tough on the worms, but may take two treatments even for those. I have to commend you for going to all this trouble for a single platy. Hopefully he pulls through!

I added the meds and everything. The plants look great, too. Not any indication of trouble. Platy did start pooping after he consumed the med, and I did a water change and am keeping an eye on the ammonia, which keeps going to .25 ppm. (for that I've been doing water changes and bacteria) But he still looks the same. He likes to hide under a roman ruin decoration I have. He still has a good appetite and comes out to eat when I feed him.
So I'm supposed to do more than one treatment of the meds, right? because of the worms lifestyle, kinda like fleas or lice.

I contracted a fish TB infection a few years ago. Here's a little something to consider:

Is that right by your gills or a little lower?

On the pectoral fin. Myco lesions practically always present on the extremities due to the pathogen's favoring of temps slightly below core temp. You should have seen how much crap came out when I lanced it, and over the next day or so.

ugh. That must have been painful!
I'm planning on dosing the tank again with the fenbendazole. If that doesn't help, and the fish continues to hide/waste away it must be Tb and I'll have to do what's necessary. But, if this last hurrah doesn't work, I probably won't set the tank back up. It's too disheartening.

It was a bit tender before I lanced and drained it, but not too bad. I didn't even feel the scalpel going in, and once it was drained it was painless.
