Someone beat the hell out of my beautiful betta last night I woke up this morning & all of his fins are gone. He also has a big hole in his stomach. I put him into my hospital tank as soon as I found him. He is just laying at the top of the water on his side. I know that hes not going to make it. I don't have any clove oil or vodka. So what else can I do?

Ok so I just went into the kitchen to prepare the ice water and got a better look at him. There is not a hole in his stomach. Its just that all of his fins are gone so it appeared that way. I went over to him and he started swimming around. I then gave him a treat (blood worms) and he gobbled it right up happily. So I do believe that there is a chance for him. I know that he has to be in pain but is it an unbearable amount? Should I still euthanize or should I try to treat him? If I should treat him what should I use? Im getting ready to go do a 75% water change. Any input would be awesome and very much appreciated.

Thanks!

Unless bacterial infection sets in, just keep his water PRISTINE and his fins should grow back fine. If he does get an infection, then you will need an antibiotic, but not before.

With fin damage I have used Melafix with good results. It is all natural from plant extracts. For more severe damage I have used a melafix/pimafix combo also with good results.
