All 4 of my Tiger Barbs and 3 Angelfish have Ich all-of-a-sudden. One of the Barbs has a large fuzzy white fungus coming out of one of it's gills. The Ich is pretty bad too. I have lots of other fish in the tank, but moving them is not an option. I have 2 Plecos and snails to consider when treating. I can remove the plants. What is the best meds for fungus, what's the best for Ich? What do I do with the Plecos??
Please help me out ASAP!

To treat the ich without meds you can turn the temp of the tank up 84 degrees or higher. That way you wouldn't have to remove anything...

As for the fungal treatment I have no clue

"Kordon RidFungus" and "Kordon IckAttack" seem to say you can leave the fish in since it's a 'natural' formula. Anyone use this stuff before?
I only have a platy tank and a icy golds tank. The Platy tank just finished being treated for Ich with meds, so I can't put them in there. I also have a rainbow shark, I hear they can be sensitive too...
How do you Humanely kill a fish...?? Just in-case I need to do that to the Barb that's turning into a cottonball...

You can treat ick by raising the temps however do it between a temp of 80-82 for a minimum of 4 days before starting any medication treatment. As for medication I would suggest using API Super Ick Cure and make sure to follow all the directions and remove any carbon you have in the tank.

What about the fungus? It would be much easier for me to kill the fish than stress all the fish by trying to cure the one....x.x this sucks, why do fish have to get sick...
I also can't find "API Super Ick Cure" in petco/petsmart, so that's out of the picture.

There are medications you can use to treat the fungus but you will want to do it for that fish alone if you can separate it. I'm not sure without a picture what that fungus could be. Maybe Maracyn TC Tetracycline will take care of it.

Which reminds me, you shouldn't treat the inverts with medication because they are highly sensitive to them.

I have 9 ghost shrimp, 2 plecos and 3 snails. I cant catch em all. large net is being used by fry too. guess i will have to leave the one barb alone and treat the rest with salt....v.v

The Barbs have been doing a strange 'headstand' too, not the breeding kind though. The one with the fungus died. So I will do more w/c tomorrow and move all plants out of the tank. Are pleco/snails/ghost shrimp sensitive to salt? I know Tetra are and you should use half strength with them. I will start adding salt tomorrow after everything else is done.

Plecos are very sensitive to salt. If the fish have ick very badly, I would suggest using an ick medicine rather than doing the salt treatment. Only because I know that a bad case of ick will take the fish. When it gets bad enough it sucks the life right out of them.
