Emergency Please Help!!!

i just got new sand and i put it in without washing it ...i kno it was dumb...i feel like and idiot, now i have 3 ccichlids reddy to go in but the water is clear and i am unsure if they shopuld go in right now.
also my filter is making wierd niose from sand i think....can i just let it run???
 
What kind of sand is it? I would do several water changes and try to get as much of the cloudyness out as possible. Your always supposed to wash the sand before you put it in the tank, unless its pre-washed aquarium sand. Even then i always do just incase.


The sand might clog up the filter as well. I would turn it off for now and just completely change the aquarium water. Dont put the fish in, but put an airstone or something in with them.
 
put an airstone in the bag with them??
also theres a pleco there...which take priority for the airstone

i changed about 75% of the water but its still pretty silty
should i do it again?
 
Well without heat or airation i would say about 2 hours. With airation much longer, but an attempt to keep the water warm should be made. I think changing them to the 5 gallon would stress them more than just keeping them in the bags. A large bucket would have been better than bags with a filter running on it or something. Just keep doing water changes until the siltyness goes down. I would worry about it damaging thier gills.
