Emotionally Attached To Your FISH?

Jill-O

All American Girl (all grown up)
I'm curious to hear how many others get emotionally attached to their fish.

It's a given that we all are concerned about the welfare of our fish. If not, we wouldn't have sought out a forum about fishkeeping.

For me, I get attached to our fancy goldfish, our blood parrot cichlids, our flowerhorn, and our rainbow cichlids. Oh, and probably the cory catfish, too. I care about the wellbeing of all the fish, but it's those groups that I feel emotionally attached to.

What about you folks? Are you attached to any of your fish, and if so, which ones?

i dont give my fish names, i just like to see fish in there environment up close, always had a fascitnation with fish as i also do angling as well so thats the reason i keep fis

I know what you mean. I don't get attached to little tetras and such...but my two black moors, Andy and Lou, are the fish I'm most attached to :) Second would be my giant Synodontis eupterus...

I don't know why, but bigger fish are easier to grow attached to. I'm sure certain little fish have amazing personalities though, like gobies and such.

I think I get pretty attached. I name them all and I even talk to them sometimes lol. Ive had one goldfish now for over 5 years and hes my baby. The other Ive had for almost a year. Funny thing is the one Ive had for almost a year is as big as the older one already. Im not even sure what kind the other one is I just call him fancy. Ill have to post asking! But to get back on topic yes I get attached.

no attachment here. lol

my Synodontis eupterus, corries, and whatever american cichlid I have at the time are usually the ones I get attached to as individuals (I am attached to my shrimp but it is hard to single out specific ones). Out of all my fish they always seem to have the best personality.

Very attached to my bettas above all..Just lost my oldest Ozzy the other day 28220_1175983338205_1786741272_360073_7483324_n.jpg

well, i've had some goldfish for a long time, and i've named them and everything. The big ones called Jock the 5th(don't ask about the other 4) the second biggest is called Panpan (lol, what a story behind that name) then there's Bubbles and Clow, my sisters fish. Then we have Blackeye, a Black Moor, and Cardo, the smallest of the actual "Goldfish".

I don't name my mollies, unless they are the adult males. The bigger of the 2 is called Starfin, the smaller of the 2 is called Max. Then i named my black skirt tetras, from largest to smallet, Ori, Moto, Cal, Zan, and Droo(deseased). Then I've also named my guppies and minnow. Guppy 1: Drama Queen (cracks up laughing) and Guppy 2: Hermi. The minnow is called Dart.

Then i also named my Saltwater fish: The Clowfish is name (give it you best guess) yep, thats right, Bob! lol. I named my green chromis 1,2,3,and 4, cause i can never tell them apart. The Firefish is called Fire, for objouse reasons. I've also named my Peppermint shrimp, Pepper(i was running low on sleep). IDk what the Cardinal is called, i just call him Dan.

And i think thats everyone. Oh wait, i forgot Cludia, my old Catfish, stone cat, caught and rasid from a young age by myself, ended up in the scukill river, right where i cought her, because she tried to eat my koi (poor Spark)

Now thats everyone.

i think its cause the big ones A) last longer and B) are easier to recignize.
