Emperor 400 Filter Media

I did the sponges, found them to be pretty bad real fast. I did not like that they clogged faster then most filter media did. in fact I have never had a problem with the blue filter media I have now. :)
 
Thanks for the inputs everyone. Granny, I just ordered some of that blue media off of Ebay. Looks good, so I'm going to give it a shot. Thanks again.

I just discarded the carbon. I also asked Drs Foster for the number to the manufacturer of the cartridges. The manufacturer gladly sent me more of the black filter shells and as many sponges as I asked for free of charge.

WOW! I am using these too now. Could you PM me the manufacturers number-Pretty Please, with Sugar LOL I just have tons of the inserts, and would Love to have more of the frames and blue sponges! Thanks 8^}:grinyes:

I use the little clamshells as well. I discarded the floss enclosed carbon after a couple of weeks (it is not very permeable and clogs up fast) and now insert the blue filter floss. Like granny I found that the little sponges restrict the water flow so I use the floss alone.
