Emperor 400....

Wow....what a mess I started with a simple question. I took the advice and called Marineland about my filter. They said that it sounded like the housing that the impellor is in, is defective. He took my name and address to send me out a "FREE" replacement housing. I told him that I thought it was impellor causing the problems and he said that if the housing swap doesn't work to call him back for a replacement impellor assembly. Now that's excellent customer service!!:D
 
cool! i'm glad it worked out for you. :)

despite all that's been posted, IME the filter should be pretty silent as long as you keep the tank water level near the top. no, this isn't to restart the debate on another thread either..... ;)

good luck with it, and post back anymore questions...........
 
I had a HOT Magnum that wouldn't seal right, and they replaced almost the entire filter, piece by piece, until the problem was solved. I got to keep the replacements (most of them unneeded, all of them good), so I now have backup parts. No charge for any of it, and shipping only took a couple days. Good customer service!

The guy at Marineland said that I should recieve them by the end of the week. I'll let you know if the problem gets fixed.
