empty 10 gallon on hand leave some ideas

Here's a couple thoughts that I had for my 10:

Crabs- This would have to be a species tank and rather brackish. It would also have to be only about half filled since they need to get out of the water and are escape artists.

Crayfish- also escape artists and generally don't play well with others so another species tank.

African Dwarf Frogs or Newts- could be fun. Newts need to get out of the water though so its a bit more of a terrarium thing.

Betta with some cories- I have this in my 8g hex right now and love it. Its a great tank since the bettas have such a personality. The cories are fun too.

Dwarf Puffers- this is what I'm going with. They're cute, small and should give me a place to dispose of the pond snails from my other tanks. Again, a species tank though. Qualified tank mates for the these guys are limited from what I hear.

Dwarf puffers can be kept happily with Otos and some shrimp. Some puffers eat shrimp, some don't even notice them. Mine don't notice.

I have 6 puffs, 3 Otos and a few ghost shrimp in my 10g. They're all quite happy. I recommend you check out the site I mentioned above if you have questions about them. TONS of info there.

These are very fun little fish. I know you'll enjoy them as much as I've enjoyed mine. :)

I am cycling a 10 gal species tank for dwarf puffers. Its already heavily planted, just waiting for the fishless cycle to finish. You'll need to feed them live snails though, to keep their jaws lined up properly.

Heh looks like he took nobody's advice!
:D

that is because most of the other fish i already have.
and the puffers diet is too complicated, (they dont eat flake food 2) plus u have to buy them snails for their beak, unless of course i get an infestation of them.
