Empty Snail Shells - Leave em or Remove em

I leave them. I like to think of them as trophies for the fish. Maybe they keep score and if I start removing them it'll throw off the count and ruin the contest.

When I had a rise and fall in a pond/bladder snail population I just left the empty shells because I was too lazy to remove them all.

i like huge empty shells, i took a few from a friend a year ago and placed them in a baby crayfish tank, it acts as a hiding spot. and it works great

I had one of my corys get stuck in a mystery snail shell. I had to hold it under the surface and break off pieces until I could get him out. He was still alive but I have no idea how long he had been in there. Now I take out the larger shells.

I leave them mainly because I am too lazy to remove all the little shells.
