Hey all, like it says in the title; I'd like your opinion on how you can tell if an Endler's line is pure. I got the endler's from a friend and they didn't know if they were pure or not. I started out with about 8 of them, and only put in guppies a few months ago, so I still have plenty of pure offspring from the originals. The only problem is, I don't know if they're pure-bred and the line should be saved.

Thanks!

No way to tell really. Crappy part is now you CANT claim you have pure endlers.

than if your going to sell them or give them away, the person may breed them with pure without knowing and therefore destroying the pure strain.

now that they're mixed with guppies, the entire point is moot. the only ones you can possibly hope to claim as pure (if they even were in the first place) are the original males. the females are suspect because they have been in with guppies and therefore are probably carrying hybrid fry. they'd have to be isolated for at least 5-6 months in order to make sure they're not carrying any more fry.
