yea males are around the femails arent. i emailed a local guy that was selling them on aquabid and he invited me over to get some for free i was given about 20 and then i ended up with enough to fill my 60 gallon! then i put some other fish in there to ake care of the babies and my colony died off.
Say, do you remember the guys name or aquabid user name? Sounds like the kind of person I want to buy from. His tanks looked well and everything?

Okay! I'm going to my good LFS today, which is about 25 minutes (on highway) from me to look for endlers! And to pick up my lighting which better be there :) Any words of advice if they have endlers that I should know before driving out there?

Endlers aren't that hard to take care off. They are small, so make sure that you don't have them with other fish that will hurt them. Remember that you may want to keep a ratio of 2 females per every male and this should limit your purchase of male endlers of you do want to start breeding them.

So I went to the LFS, and all they have are males :( I didn't get any, but I'm hopefully going to get a couple females from them because I talked to the owner. He said the supplier only gives them males, I'm assuming this is because they don't want people to breed them with guppies. So we'll see whether or not I get them, and how soon that will be. And thank-you for the reply, Snake eyez. I'm putting them in a 10Gal by themselves so it should be okay :) I'm checking out one more LFS today to see if they have any, but I don't think they would be pure, we'll see though!

You know what I find kind of stupid?

Is when suppliers refuse to sell females for fear of crossbreeding with male guppies, yet they sell all males which could very well crossbreed with guppy females!

HARLOCK- i got them from a guy named jeremy

and
they dont sell females cause they are afraid of you breeding them with guppies. they dont sell them so you can breed endlers. if they tried this technique by selling females only, noone would buy them at all.

the real reason they dont sell females is so they can sell fish. If people got the females then they could make a ton of these. so actually the greedy people that wont sell females are actually destroying the endler breed.

that's a very good point. It also wouldn't hurt them to sell a few. There's no way they need them all! Greedy people! hehe :)

The law of supply and demand. They can control the supply by limiting the amount of females out on the market.
