i left my 2 30 watts bulb on for 12 hours today since i'll be home after 12 hours..
just wondering , will it harm my fishes to have the lights on for that long?
btw the light are on the whole night...
my fish are angels and bristlenose...

For a newly planted tank, and this is just my opinion, it would be better to run the lights for 8 - 10 hours max. New tanks are subject to algae problems until they mature a bit. Running lights for 12 hours could cause more of those issues for you.

Are you saying that the lights will be off during the day and on during the dark hours?
I've heard pros and cons regarding this. If I were to run my tanks that way I would try to darken the room when the lights aren't on in order to give the fish(and the plants) some sort of a cycle.
It would be interesting to hear other opinions on this.

yup because during the day... the room is quite bright... so i don't turn on the light...
its only after 6 pm that i turn on my aquarium lights...
would it be ok to just turn on the ligh from 6 - 10 pm? or 6 - 11?
since the room is bright?

another..

another picture...


so far no more greeen water since i covered the back of the tank.. so it recieves only a little sunlight as compared to before when the whole tank was exposed to sunlight..
