My dad has a paradise fish with bloat. Peas and brine shrimp didn't seem to do anything so I'd like to use Epsom salt. But I'm getting different dosage amounts. What is the correct dose per gallon of water? And am I supposed to leave it in for 24 hours?

Also, there's a fish missing some scales in a small spot. Will the salt cause any stinging? The wound looks like it's healed but I'm not certain.

I can give you the dosing instructions once I get home from work. I taped it to my box of epsom salts. And epsom salts isn't the kind that stings wounds like table salt.

The instructions I follow are 1 tablespoon/10 gallons. If not better in 4 hours you can add another dose. You should see improvement within 24 hours if it's bloating from constipation. I've had to do the second dose with a discus that kept eating algae wafers and then blowing up from it.
