Hi All,

After having been 20yrs now since keeping tropical fish I recently set up a 4ft tank consisting of cardinal, rummy nose and black phantom tetras - 4 dwarf gouramis, a few zebra danios and a silver shark (Blake our 14r old son pleaded with us for that one .. lol). I sure am out of touch - I don't think gravel cleaners existed in the 80's and isn't it odd, during the hot summers down under here in Australia we used to just empty buckets of cold water straight from the tap - no de-cholrinating or anything and 'I don't think we ever lost a fish'! Already we have had our first outbreak of ich which has wiped out all our cardinals but fortunaltely the result of treating the water with ick-away, maintainig 29degree temperatures and hefty water changes has sought to us saving all our other fish. You can certainly count on me joining in on and contributing to forums as i have a lot to learn.

Happy Fish Hunting All
