I mixed 2 parts black sand and 1 part white sand. My stingray loves it and i think it looks great! The only advice I have is to rinse it really well, because small pockets of air in the sand when it is added to your tank will cause grains of sand to float.

This is as good as it gets.
Christopher, I love your mix. I wanted black sand for my next tank that's going to feature my black ghost knife. But, of course the black would not work, but your nice mix 2 parts white to one part black, might just be the thing. Nice.

I mixed 30% estes black fine gravel to 70% eco-complete. They mixed really good and I'd always go for black substrates now.

Chris, your tank looks great. Zebra rock would be a showpiece in there.

Thanks for the compliments. I was hesitant to mix colors, but the LFS only had 2 bags of black. I am really glad that I did mix, because it gives the tank a unique look. I laid my sand really thin, so it only took 3 bags for a 75 gallon tank.
