I was wondering if anybody out there already has an Estimative Index schedule already made for their 55g (high lights). If so, would you mind sharing it?

Thanks!

Plantbrain...I have looked over your article before and found it to be a nice routine that I'm definately aiming for. The main thing is that on the example, the dosing regiment is listed as such for a 20g:

1/4 teaspoon of KNO3 3-4x a week (every other day)
1/16th-1/32nd teaspoon of KH2PO4 3-4x a week (every other day)
Traces added on off days as the macro nutrients, so 3x a week, 5mls each time.
SeaChem Equilibrium 1/8 teaspoon after water change.

Which leads me to three questions:

1. Is it okay for me to use Potassium Sulfate in place of the KH2PO4? Will it still yield a good amount of K and PO4? If so, would I still use 1/16-1/32tsp?

2. When you write traces, would that mean something like Flourish? Is it okay to dose that much when the bottle says 1-2mL 1-2x a week?

3. Does Equilibrium take care of Ca, Mg, and Fe? And if so, in reasonable amounts?

Thanks again for the help!

I'm not Plantbrain, hopefully he doesn't mind me trying to answer some of these.

Potassium sulphate is K2SO4, there is no PO4 in it. You need to find a source of phosphate.

Yes, Flourish is for traces. It also contains Iron. I personally dose about 7 mL of Flourish every 3 days or so in my 72 gallon tank. This has worked pretty well for me lately. Make sure you buy the Flourish Comprehensive.

I'm not sure but I think Equilibrium is mostly for Ca and Mg needs.
