Euthanizing a snail.

Also, you could drop it in boiling water.

Someone suggested that to me but I don't know if I could do it. He's eating, moving around now and pooping so he seems to be ok for the moment. I'll just wait and see how he does. If he shows any signs of distress or discomfort, I'll end it.:(

Im no expert but if he is eating and moving with no guts spewing out i would let him live doubt it bothers the lil guy epoxy him with something

I disagree. Usually when the mantel collapses, it's lung collapses as well. Hardly a good situation.

Sorry to hear about it. Good luck with the euthanasia method you chose.

Well, I'm not positive that his mantle was collapsed now (unless they can recover from it) but something was definitely wrong with him. He seems much better now. I'm still keeping him in a shallow container (just enough water to cover him. changed several times a day) and he's eating and pooping and moving around. Before he didn't seem to able to right himself. He'd come almost all the way out of his shell trying to get on his foot. I tried to assist him but he just kept rolling himself over. I finally dropped some food right on him and he ate with vigor. Since I've moved him to a shallow container he seems fine if a little lethargic. I guess I wait and see...

Get a breeder net to keep him in your regular tank that way you don't have to worry about changing the water too much, or worry about water quality going bad all of a sudden- as long as you're sure its not some sort of bacterial or fungal infection he's got going on. \o/ Just a suggestion.
