ever had your friend mess with the tanks?

I don't think either of those things would even cross any of my friends' minds! I've never had an issue, fortunately.

Never. I've had people I associate with do such things, but friends have respect for their friends' wishes.

Most of my friends are more mature than that and are taken in by the size of the tanks and by the fish. They often stayed glued to a spot about 5 ft from the tanks and just watch them as if mesmerized by them.

if anybody messed with my tanks, they would not be welcome in my house any more. thankfully, my friends are mature enough to not go anywhere near my tanks and i have not had to kick anyone out of my house.

My friends wouldn't do that. And if they did, I'd politely ask them not to do it, and it would never happen again.

No, but I'm always amazed at the number of posts about friends and family dropping inappropriate fish into tanks. LOL
