Everyone post Pics of your Tank Here

Not tryin to jump on the bandwagon here, but that stand needs some serious bracing before that tank is filled. The sump is a 20g long, yes? If my guess is correct, I'd venture to guess that the main tank is a 75g tank. (48" x 18" x 20" high) The top of the stand should be more like 50" x 20" minimum, and as mellowvision suggested, the top of the stand should not be encased between the sides, but rather on top of them to bear the full compressive strength of the side panels, instead of relying on the strength of the screws/adhesive holding it in place. I'd have at very least a 2x4 cage built inside the frame of that stand, perhaps adding L brackets, and a center support post. That would cause one **** of a mess if the stand gave out while either or both of those tanks were full... please seriously consider strengthening it before filling your tank?

He addressed it in another thread that the stand is not done.

Hi everyone, this is my 65 gal. reef tank that is 8 months old. I am a newbie, had a 55 gal. a few years ago with my son but he has moved out now so I asked for a reef tank for Xmas. I am the one having problems with my Chili coral. It's a little depressing as I really research things BEFORE I BUY anything and with all I read I didn't think the Chili coral if I fed it right would be hard to take care of :( I am not adding ANYTHING else for now until I see what happens to this coral. I'll ask for tank additions and suggestions though as I really want to add COLOR to my tank. BLUE, PINK, ORANGE, BRIGHT YELLOWS. So perhaps some suggestions on what might be good. I do have a coral banded shrimp that is a good size in this tank so it would have to get along with it. That is the only slightly aggressive thing I have in the tank and I do keep him well FED! :) This picture is up to date EXCEPT for the MAJOR mistake of adding the Blue starfish. Which I believe became victim to the coral banded shrimp. The one BIG MISTAKE of seeing something at the LFS and buying without research thinking it would look beautiful in my tank. It became LUNCH for my banded shrimp I believe. Never saw it happen but it happened fast AT NIGHT of course :( Also I'd like opinions of do you think I have TOO MUCH live rock in my tank?? I really want to add lots of corals, mushrooms, zoos and now I am thinking where will I put them? I think I have about 90-100 lbs of live rock.

Thanks and ALL the tanks above are AWESOME. I never get tired of looking at other's tanks and ideas. VERY creative. All suggestions welcome from a newbie. LESSON learned on the Blue star :(

The rock arrangements look great!!

Lets Clear this up.

Ok I guess I sould have said that the cabinet wasn't done yet on this thread also. I just set up what I had to see what it was going to look like and to get it out of the way. I only have a few hours here and there to work on it so it's takin awhile. I did some more on it tonight and it's still not done. I still have to make the face frame and trim. Then paint and install. The cabinet will be bolted to the floor and wall and will have to rip the wall down to fall.

For the people who are saying that the top sould be on top of the sides dont understand how you build a cabinet. You dont want to see the edge of the plywood from the side when you build a cabinet. Just like the cabinets in your kitchen. Understanding that you want the suport you must brace the inside. Plus the frame is sitting on top of the 3/4" Cabinet grade plywood sides. That can suport the load of a tank this size and more. The box is pinned together, screwed and glued. I have also added some more pictures tht might show what I'm talking about. I also for got to say that I'm a custom cabinet maker by trade.
