If you like to read, or even if you don't, you should try to pick up a book called "What A Fish Knows" by ethologist Jonathan Balcombe. I thought I knew a little about fish. After reading this book, I realized how little I actually knew about our finned friends! For example, did you know that a single Cleaner Wrasse on the Great Barrier Reef serviced an average of 2,297 clients each day? Or that some clients visit a specific cleaner up to an average of 144 times per day?? Do fish think? Do they really have three-second memories? Can they recognize the humans who peer back at them from above the surface of the water? The author addresses these questions and more....
The book was printed in 2016, so I am sure it is still in print.
Like it says on the book flap, "What A Fish Knows" will forever change how we see our aquatic cousins---the pet goldfish included.
Highly Recommended!!
