Evil Father HELP!!!

I started with an oscar in a 10. Seriously. I still have him too:)
We were all noobs at one point. It's a good thing to remember.

Heck, when I got my first goldfish, (that I won) I put him in a tomato jar that I stuffed a brick inside, (cause I thought the goldfish would have appreciated the obstacle course).... Imagine I would have asked ifthat was fine, on a fish forum. . . ;)

Hehe. Yes. We were all n00bs at one time.

hmm, how about 7 gouramis in a 10g? That was my n00b one. I still have one of them.

It's not that crazy.. most Arrowana owners will put newborn babies in smaller tanks. It makes feeding easier, especially getting them to move to dead food (which isn't that hard) and really helps them grow early on.

A week old Silver is like, 2-3'' .. that's what I usually see in fish stores. They're hardly oversized for a 10 gallon.

Hell, my first SIlver was miserable in a 55 (still had the eggsack), I had to move him to a 10 until he was old and strong enough to handle the bigger tank.

I once put a goldfish in a 2.5G.... I won it from the fair, and I had no where else to put it, no LFSs to take it, and mom was afraid he'd make the oscar sick if it ate it. I was going to get a 30G for it, but we ended up moving up here, and I gave it to someone who knew nothing about fish at all B/C she was the only person we knew back in that complex.

as for the OP, give him some time to post before we leap to such extreme conclusions. I wouldn't be surprised if he never came back after this sad behavior out of people I respect.

True Fishcatch. And sadly I'm one of the perpertrators. I wonder if he answers his e-mails...
