At the lfs here, they have this rounder white fish, that have crayola crayon looking marks on them. I asked, what the heck?

They actually tattoo the fish! Not at the lfs, but they get them from somewhere that does.

freaky. It looks bad anyways...

why???Well that's obvious. I guess the questions is, how? and what?

yikes.

it was just this last week that i saw a tattooed fish here in nowhere south dakota... on one of those parrot cichlids. they had kisses on them among other odd things.... Its just so sad what people will buy/sell.

Do they like, sedate them first?

or just hold them down??

how come I can't even keep some guppies alive from a move, but these fish get tats and are fine lol.

aslong as its not a big freaky needle with a live (or even sedated) scared baby fish, I dont really see what's wrong  .

I mean, if it doesnt stress or harm them (though im sure it does), what's so bad about it?

It's just gimmicky, the beauty of the fish itself should be why you are interested in it, not 'Your name tattooed in a fish for $5'

I Think that this is awful, Makes me so angry that this sort of thing goes on. I boycott every store that sell them. Thankfully you dont see them much here in the UK but i have seen it once or twice (more regularly 5 years ago)
