I THINK THEY PUT A WET CLOTH OVER THE FISH SO IT CAN BREATHE then i guess the tattoo out line it already cut out of the rag they must be done in Thailand or china don't think Americans would have the patience for that the will but not the patience.
arent there already 300 threads about this from years back. used to care but i think you get desensitized after a few years of listening to the same people who try to run you over in the street and would push you down in walmart during the Christmas season to get that last toy for their kids, talk about how awful it is to do stuff to animals when they dont even treat their own species with respect or caring. yeah sure tattooing fish is bad but the exact same people that make a huge deal about it glady show off their prada bad slaves (or nearly as much) in indonesia made for 6 cents a week so you could spend hundreds on it.
every time i see dyed fish, they are always crawling with lymphocystis and ich; the dyeing process makes the fish and their immune systems very weak. most of the fish will die from an easily curable disease like ich before they are even sold or shortly after.
I tend to agree with most of your comments - that and there sure are lots of myths / unproven claims in this thread. I guess its easy to jump on a particular bandwagon and go along for the ride.
they also use lasers to correct peoples vision..... and that is a painless procedure.
they also use lasers for tattoo removal.... which i have heard hurts....
who can say unless you are the fish being lasered?
they also laser tag vegtables and fruits now.... but it is harmless to the fruit.
you know, I could ALMOST MAYBE see this being ok, IF EVERY fish survived, it didnt hurt them, and it was to enhance the fishes natural beauty, you know, adding some nice colours to an otherwise "ugly" fish (just using example words folks) but NOT adding pinstripes, hearts, words etc... thats all useless trival crap which serves only to keep the stupid people, stupid.
I agree with just about everybody that has posted so far, but dont see the sense in getting all worked up about it, like it was said before, we declaw cats, clip dog ears and tails, brand livestock with a white hot iron, and kill billions and billions of insects each year with our cars and trucks. If you dont like it, dont buy them, put they arent going anywhere any time soon as long as people that dont know any better keep buying them. Most people dont see fish as a dog or a cat or any other domesticated animal. When it comes down to it, they are food! MOST americans dont eat dogs, cats, hamsters, horses, parrots, or ferrets. MOST americans do however eat fish, (my favorite food to be honest), it naturally desensitizes people into believing that fish are not important and dont require as much attention as a most other pets, and its true. Im gonna quit rambling before i get carried away, but although i did post on THIS thread, i think most of these threads are a waste of time, we dont have the power to change things like this and we probably never will. America thrives off of supply and demand. If i offended anyone, at least I was being honest.
God, I didnt say I supported it, I was just showing there are SIDES to this, I MEANT that it isnt really bad if IT JUST GIVEs THE FISH MORE NATURAL COLOUR AND BEAUTY AND DOESNT CAUSE IT STRESS OR DEATH!!!!!!
