Ok you may all think this is a funny questions but you have to understand that I have a kind of phobia of worms. Are the live worms you feed to your fish safe to touch. I dont know anything about them but I have always been paranoid about the worms that live inside people and such. :shark: Currently I do feed them to my fish but I keep as far away from them as posible. I use a fork to take them out of the container! Sorry if this seems silly (I can hear you all laughing right now!) but I thought I would just check to make sure.
 
Hehe I'd be the same way. Not only would I use a fork but it would forever be deemed the "aquarium fork." And thus ousted from the kitchen.

I think in all reality they are fine to touch though. Basic sanitation...wash afterwards.
 
I don't know of any worms that you feed your fish that would be harmful to you although I do have a friend that has an alergic reaction to bloodworms in any form so he uses rubber gloves when handling them. What kind of worms are you feeding? I personally use a pair of crafting tweezers mainly so I can pick single whiteworms or blackworms out to feed in small quantities and sometimes to pick out smaller redworms. for larger redworms I just use my fingers and wash them off before feeding. some people get a little crazy cleaning worms, it's not like the fish don't ingest dirt in the wild so a little worm bedding is not going to hurt them. I buy black worms by the pounds. Yes I use my hands but I wash before and after...its just a thing

I would use gloves if you have a problem touching them but they are safe to touch in my experince. I always wash my hands, arms or any part of my body which I will be putting in my tank or using for feeding my fish before I do anything. Just to make sure I don't contaminate my tank with nastys I have picked up on my travels.

I also get a little tank water and wash my worms in that first before putting them in the tank
