i have had a few guppies die without any known cause, i have 5 left and three of which are at the top of the tank, with exaggerated swimming motion in water flow from filter does anyone know what could cause this

Off the top of my head, and knowing only what you have given here... I can only say that they are just swimming harder in the flow from the filter. How large is your tank (gallons/liters), what filtration does it have, are the fish showing clamped fins, any whiteness on the fins, salt like specs on their body, any fin damage? What are the current stats in your tank (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate) and when was the last time you tested this? Have you done any water changes recently or added new fish? How old is the tank?

Without information I've asked for we can't help you much.

the tank is just a 20 gallon with an in the tank filter, and bubble wand in the back. i had posted in another thread was told water change ( i had put salt in about 1 1/2 tbs, was told not to do that) so i just did that, before change ammonia 0, nitrite 0 ph 6.4 nitrates 10ppm, fish still at the top the same as before. the tank is about 8 months old, have had fish in it for 2 months, before i could not seem to keep the nitrates down no matter what, then found "nitrazorb"
the fish seem to have done well till yesterday morning when i got up to find 3 dead. water change done then also 50%, again this am 2 were dead, most of fry also, only have 5 adults and 2 fry left

Look down from the top ot the tank and see if they look like a pine cone. It sounds like a bacterial dropsey. If that is the case get them out and put them down. If you have other fish I'd put them in a hospital tank and trash the set up and start over. It sounds drastic, but why purchase new future victims?
