???EXCEL???

I would really like to know since the chemist at Seachem can't figure it out either?

Maybe dosing at the wrong time in the light cycle or something like that?

or maybe not enough or to much water movement around the plant when dosing?

I don't see Excell harming any of those plants. The Amazon swords especially should benefit from it and would also appreciate root tabs.
How much lighting do you have?
 
Excel at normal recommended concentrations has never caused damage to any of my plants (have kept over 100 species at one time or another). It is definitely beneficial, but only if you're good about adding it regularly.

Direct contact WILL melt vals, kill mosses and pelia, it can also stress your fish.

Overdoses and direct contact (as an algaecide) had no effect on my java ferns, crypts, anubias or swords. I have never deliberately used it in concentrated direct contact with my stems- if I have algae on a stem I just chuck it out.
