As I stated there is very little price difference in the UK. My preference for Eheim is my own opinion which is based on using them for many years and lots of research on the internet. I doubt anyone can state that they have tried all makes of everything, that's hardly possible. But let's see if other makes have the staying power. The OP didn't ask about other makes but maybe they don't know of their existence, so I feel we should point that out.

True, buut only when we admit no actual experience with the makes we are indirectly dismissing.
I have at least 8 Marineland Mag 350s over 20 yrs.....3 at 25 plus....I will be expecting the same from the C 360 series.

When a person says that something is the best it is obvious they are saying that from their own experience. It's impractical to say that brand Z is the best buy but I must admit that I haven't tried brands A, D & G. Especially when the brand that you support is to my knowledge a US company that hasn't ventured into Europe, whereas Eheim are Global.
It is easy to say a brand is best from personal experience, even easier to say you have no experience with the others....

In australia Eheim are alot dearer than every thing elese ie I can pick up an Fx5 between $350.00 and $400.00 where the equivalent ehime is around $900.00 to $1000 so I dont think it is that much better for the extra money.
