I still use the old bucket of water trick to change the water, so no worries there on the dechlor not doing its job, its already pre-mixed.
Thanks for the stocking suggestions, I was just really looking for a ball park figure on say if I was only to have swordtails in the tank and nothing else, how many would be reasonable...
and I am aware that the swordtails will reproduce, although they are pretty darn good at eating the young, so they control themselves pretty well
