Has any one ordered an extension for their python? We are redoing some of the rooms in our house and moved one of our fish tanks to another room, and the hose is just about 5 ft. to short for cleaning. I need to order an extension, and was wondering will the suction be affected by adding the extra length? Can I just make an extension by using plastic tubing, or do I need to order a special hose from the company?

I'd go to home depot, buy some tubing and a barbed fitting and make my own.

tubing and barbs sure is a lot cheeper than the "real" thing... just cut it a little piece out of the middle of the tube, go get as much extra as you need and a couple of nylon barbs and hose clamps. Works like a charm.

I went to hardware store and got a drinking-water safe garden hose and an extra female coupler. Now I can add as much garden hose or as little as I need. Cost $7.00.

I just bought a garden hose that screwed right on.Fish seem fine for years now so i guess it was ok..
