Just wanted to show the difference in a good genetic fish and a weak genetic fish. Both of these Dovii are 5.5", both are male and both of them have the exact same diet which consists of Hikari Cichlid Gold, Krill, worms, shrimp, tallapia and beefheart. The F1 was ordered online, the low genetic one was purchased from a LFS that receives them in bulk.

It's a world of difference.

Amazing difference! Happys over and over with many fishies.

Hmm..huge difference. I'll keep that in mind for whenever I decide to get a monster tank.

"cheaper" isn't always better-sometimes you get what you pay for...
The F1 Dovii looks great:grinyes:

I agree.. I bought 4 of the LFS variety but they just weren't cutting it for me. But $4.99 vs $50+ you definitely get what you pay for. Well worth it to splurge for top quality.

The other thing I noticed is the weak genetic male was very very skittish, rarely came out in the open when I was around. The F1 is always out.

I just wanted to give some people something to think about when trying to select whether to go cheap or quality.
