Can figure 8's, Bumble Bee gobys and a BW eel live together? or will the eel eat the gobies? If they can live together, can you suggest a small BW eel. Thanks!

P.S. I know this should be in the BW section, but this section gets considerably more traffic, sorry if that is a forum ettiquette no no, I really appreciate your input!

In answer to your question--bad idea. Puffers and eels don't mix wel--puffers often go after the eels eyes. Some eels do eat fish, so may go after the gobies, and puffers are often unfirendly to ANYTHING else, so the gobies wouldn't be safe with them either, IMO. And, of course, most of the eels sold as brackish will need marine conditions as they mature--not a great mix.

Figure 8s can eat bumblebee gobies. Knight gobies are larger and can look after themselves. They are more dominant than my f8 but spend most of the time in the rockwork.

How big a tank are we talking here? I tried a figure 8 with a knight goby in a 20 long, and I felt the knight was a little to nippy during feeding time. I would be willing to do it again in a 30 long, though...that extra floor space is useful.

I've got two knights and a figure 8 in a 29g. There's a lot of rockwork and a nice piece of driftwood. Silk plants. Tried real plants but not much success there. The knights are a male and female so they keep each other occupied and don't take much notice of the puffer.

Maybe my problem was just having one knight goby in there...no one but the puffer to bicker with. They sure are cool looking fish.

thanks guys! sorry about the forum misplacement. I guess I won't try the eels. Any suggestions are welcome on a 29g BW set-up...Im guessing the Blackfin shark wont work either will it?
