Simple question. I read somewhere black kuhlis need at least 50 gallons. Is this true? Thanks

I don't see why they would need that much space. IMO a 20 long would be sufficient for a few 5" wigglers.

I agree don't see a reason for that big of a tank for kuli loaches. Unless you have a bunch of them.

Where on earth did you see that?

I've had kuhli's in smaller setups with no problems. I currently have 5 in a 15 with 3 other fish. The kuhli's are happy enough to be reproducing in there.

I saw it on liveaquaria. It also said that gold dojo loaches need at least 30gal while black kuhlis need 50. Could they have mixed them up? Maybe

I think you've hit on it. Gold dojos need more than 30g, imo, and you could put about a zillion kuhlis in a 50

Oriongirl what do you do with all the kuhli babies? in the LFS they have hunders in a 20 gallon that aren't small
