Falling powerheads

Just for the simple reason of expence and materials I already owned I went with the DYI plexiglass bracket. The most difficult issue was drilling a clean hole through 1/8" plexi with no splintering, that done we a modified the way of heating the plastic using a torch in stead of buying a heat gun bending then wrapping around a small board forming a perfect mold to the tanks wall. A few $$ for nylon nuts, washers, and bolts and finished for about $2.oo each. They fit perfectly and took less than an hour to do 3 powerheads start to finish. I m still considering purchasing some of the magnetics for mid height powerheads but thats not a critical matter. Thanks for your feedback on what was such a simple solution that I just never even considered.

No problem buddy!!! That is why we are all here!!

I had the same problem with falling powerheads. I am now using the Sure Grip Magnets on my maxi-jet 1200's and they work great. When I clean the glass I just remove the outside magnet and move the powerhead out of the way, then put it back. Clean glass, dry hands, no more falling powerheads. Highly recomended.

Can we get some pics of your DIY masterpeices??

That did'nt work for me, it just caused the powerhead to change direction when the suction cups let go and face straight down into the substrate.
