Fastlight81's 37g planted journal

Just a question.... where would you purchase tweezers for planting plants? I dont want to buy them online. and spend 30 bucks for a pair. I want to buy them locally and ones that are like 10in long. I think I will be able to plant in tighter groups with tweezers

I saw a kit at Petsmart not to long ago. BTW what does one need with tweezers anyhow?

Tank is looking good!

Tweezers @ DFS It is online but it's not $30. :) I am sure there are places to get them locally too but I know I have not found them anywhere near me. I got the 6" tweezers a while ago just to try it out and I have been very pleased, next time I order I will be getting the 10" curved ones.

Oh and I am an idiot! photoperiod 1030am to 830 is not 8 hours!:rant2: haha its 10! just adjusted to 8

Looks very nice! Did your rotala macranda survive? I love that plant, but the leaves are like tissue paper!

cobfreak, I think I know what you are talking about and I have a pair. good for getting stuff out of the bottom of the tank, terrible for planting. my lindinera India and rotala mini type 2 are quite small. i found a cheap pair of eyebrow tweezers and used them. they got the job done.
Thanks fishycat. Yes Id say for the rotala macranda they mostly survived. 1 stem is starting to do well the others are holding on. So given time even one stem can lead to many others! I hope cutting down the photoperiod will cut down on the bba growth. Its not terrible, but not going away either. I may have to kill it with excel (spot check)dont want to melt my vals. Hopefully kill it enough as to where my new plants will pick up the slants and it doesnt have a chance to grow back .

Amano shrimp will munch BBA, not sure your abn will...

I love my eyebrow tweezers for planting! Granted I haven't tried that in my 20H...

i have 2 amano shrimp. hard workers. but they is too much of it for them to tackle. Thats why i have a 3 step plan. Lower light levels. from 10 to 8hrs. eliminate with excel. purchase nice fancy co2 pressurized setup. eliminate the co2 spikes, and if what ive read is correct. That should solve my problems.

tweezers... any pet store that sells reptile supplies. 10" feeder tongs are the same thing. should be near $10, not over... and you get them right there with no shipping charges. definitely search the net and/or call around to make sure someone does have one in stock. they sell reliably, just not fast... so someone should have one but it's doubtful everyone'll have a bunch.

thanks for the tip dun. Picture timer:clap:
really wish my camera would show you how purple my hyptis and lindernia really is.

On a puzzling and heartdropping note. I only see 1 of my 5 otos today. I spent 10 minutes staring at the tank looking high and low. If they are hiding...dang they are good. If they died, I cant imagine my 2 ghost shrimp eating 4 of them without me seeing something.(or my dwarf african frog) I hope they are hiding and will be doing some night hunting tonight. I miss them playing leapfrog on the glass.
