hey ladies,
yo i got two honey gourami fish and one of them got really fat, and not p.h.a.t. phat either.. i dunno whats goin on, anyone evr seen that before? hemp me out. peace
I had an imasciated yoyo that died from eating, her belly was soooo fat but her poor head & tail never recovered after being starved @ the LFS for so long, there were about 20 modesta in with her & 2 other yoyo's . You know like when they are running out of yo-yo's, so they toss the few that are left in with other fish to restock the empty tank with something else. If you goto the fishstores early in the morning you can see how little they feed their fish & most of us by comparison over feed our fish 4 one reason because we can also overclean our tanks so to say. So i'm guessing it's rather common to have chubby fish within reason.
On a sadder note i've read about a disorder called bloat that frogs get but youde have to research it fish get it or not.
I'm interested in hearing more about those protruding scales btw Dangerdoll.
curious what it's a sign of & such
Maybe look up "fishbloat pictures" & see if it looks simmilar, i'm not sure
yep, Charlie's got it right, telecubby. Dropsy is usually started from an internal infection and multiple organ failure. By the time dropsy is evident, it's normally too late however, it's not unheard of for a fish to recover at this stage.
