One of my phantom tetras has a large stomach and kind of keeps to itself. Also, it doesn't have much of an appetite anymore. Its colour is still good, but its one lower fin is kind of frayed. It doesn't look like the pictures of fin rot on the web, but I'm not an expert  . Should I be worried or will this pass?

If it is a female it could be egg bound. Meaning that she has the eggs to spawn with but not the right conditions to do it. It is fatal some ot the time. This is only a guess so don't panic yet.

Male Black Phantoms will not have any red in them at all, while the females will. Two of my females have looked about ready to explode for a few months now but they are doing well.

I have one female who is also looking quite fat...i've been flirting with the idea of attempting a spawn, and if anyone else is, here's an address to a web page that could help you out...http://www.gsas.org/Articles/1998/black-phantom.html...By the way, has anyone in here already spawned them, or even tried to? I'd like to hear some more feedback on this topic. Thanks.
