Have you considered swim bladder disease? If the case the fish's 'stomach' just looks bloated......is your tank overcrowed?.....if the fish starts to go to the top and is upside down....that's it......good luck.......

Mg is magnesium. Aquarium salt will not work as it is sodium chloride, as apposed to Magnesium sulfate. You can usually find epsoms salt in the foot care or first aid section.
The epsoms will not hurt anything else, so you're okay to add it directly to your tank. 1-2table spoons per 10g is good to start out.
Just to be sure, when you look at your gourami from above, do his scales stick out like a pinecone?
Nope, epsom salts are pretty much standard. They are ment to be thrown in hot water and to soak in. Any drug store will have a bag of them for fairly cheap if you don't already have them at home.
I would really try the epsom salts as they are pretty harmless (the other fish may have a lot of extra poop) and you will quickly find out if the bloating is related to constipation. Hopefully by the next day things should be better.
